MISSONG MASSACRE AND THE CONTINUATION OF LA REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN’S GENOCIDE ON THE PEOPLE OF AMBAZONIA

The Interim Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia vehemently condemns the massacre of ten (10) Ambazonian civilians in the peaceful community of Missong in Fungom LGA- Menchum County on the 01st of June 2022, by Dictator Paul Biya’s genocidal thugs known as Batallion d’Intervention Rapide (BIR).

Our preliminary investigations, despite communication challenges, indicate that among the 10 compatriots indiscriminately gunned down on that fateful day, there was an innocent18-month-old baby girl who clung onto her mother as the barbaric genocidal French Cameroon trigger-happy thugs unleashed bullets at point-blank range, killing the innocent baby and her mother.

(04) Women, Five (05) Men and the 18-month- old baby were summarily executed just for being Ambazonians (Southern Cameroonians). Another one-year-old baby girl was lethally wounded and is in a critical state in hospital.

Ambazonia is mourning! Our hearts go to the families of these innocent victims, whose lives have been cut short by the excesses of Dictator Biya’s extermination agenda, manifested by the ongoing genocide and scorched earth policy towards the peace-loving people of Ambazonia (Southern Cameroons).

This massacre is just one of the numerous massacres carried out by La Republique du Cameroun's genocidal army since Dictator Biya declared war on our people on November 30, 2017. The Ngarbuh massacre, the Menka/Pinyin massacre, the Fang/Bali massacre, the Mautu massacre, the Bole/Bakundu massacre, the Ekondo Titi massacre, the Jamot/Miami massacre, the Bakweri Town/ sandpit massacre, the Kumba massacre, the Kwakwa massacre, the Bangem-Noh massacre, the Ebonji massacre, the Meluf massacre, the Alloucho-Bakundu massacre, the Alla’achu-Mankon massacre, the Bafut massacre etc are just a few of the documented massacres perpetrated by Biya’s genocidal squads. The only difference, this time with the Missong Massacre is that the genocidal regime was quick to take “responsibility” through a signed communique by one Captain Atonfack Guemo Cyrille Serge (Press Release No. 0047/CP/MINDEF/019 of 07th June 2022), in an attempt to forestall and manipulate the narrative concerning the cause of this recent despicable atrocity crime on our people.

These low-grade heinous crimes, only fuel the resolve of our valiant self-defense Restoration Forces (ARF) to continue to fight relentlessly to free our homeland- Ambazonia. We assure our people that justice will be served to the enemy.

Once more, we reiterate our call for the International Community led by the United Nations to set up a fact-finding mission to investigate all the atrocity crimes/war crimes perpetrated by La Republique du Cameroun's genocidal military since 2017. Ambazonian lives are not less valuable than Ukrainian lives. The world cannot ignore this genocide in plain sight being perpetrated on our people, while all attention is focused on Ukraine.

Once again, we affirm our commitment to the internationally endorsed Swiss-led process (SLP) endorsed by major world stakeholders, geared towards mediation and negotiations while reaffirming our determination to continue to defend our people and our territory until the enemy- French Cameroun (La Republique du Cameroun) realizes that the only way to a just and lasting peace is through negotiations.
