CSOs, FBOs AND CONVERGING IN BAMENDA TO TALK PEACE

COMINSUD Engages To Raise 100 Voices Against Extreme Violence Against Civilians

Peace is the desire of each and everyone, but not everyone has the ability to directly shape the path that leads to achieving lasting peace. Though not all can directly divide on whether there should be peace or not, all voices can talk peace and pray for peace. These voices are of importance, for they are a reminder and a reawakening of the stakeholders that the prize the common man is paying as a consequence of conflict is huge and something has to be done. In this light therefore, Community Initiative for Sustainable Development COMINSUD has brought together CSOs, FBOs and Bamenda City duelers to talk peace.

Will this approach cause those with arms to drop down their guns?

COMINSUD, Friday December 9, 2022 have brought together Civil Society Organizations, Faith Based Organizations, Association of Persons with hearing impairments and the Association of buyam sellams on the theme: Promote A Just and Peaceful Society.  The Coordinator of this NGO, Fon Suh Micheal gave justification for the organization of such a meeting. "We must raise 100 voices against extreme violence against civilians until peace comes to our land. There are a lot of guns in our towns and for there to be peace or less killing, guns must be reduced."

He continued by stating that there is a lot of fragmentation.

"We are here today to raise voices against fragmentation and Extreme Violence. We need to inculcate the values of peace: Inclusion, Tolerance, Non-Violence and Equality.

Messages will be sent to the International Community, Presidency, National Assembly, Non-State armed groups and the diaspora to see reasons why they should give peace a chance". He added.

The take home message from the come together was that on your little corner talk peace, act peace and preach peace
