LRC Minister of Trade Maintain Sealed Lips Amidst Absence of Domestic Cooking Gas

It is a nightmare with users of domestic cooking gas. The gas in all the different brands is nowhere to be found. What pains users the more is the fact that the colonial administrators of La Republique du CameroUn have adopted a sealed lip as an answer to the suffering of the common man. The colonial Minister of Trade remains mute amidst the penery of cooking gas, is an indication of the fact that the regime caresless about the man down there, and the abuse of the rights of the household user of cooking gas.

An honest government with the interest of the people at high esteem, will not hesitate to explain to consumers at any given moment when there's absence of a particular commodity of necessity in the market. For close to three months now, domestic cooking gas is gradually running short of stock in the market, until now that it is completely out. The failed LRC government has been unable to adopt a plan B for users to be supplied. How can LRC be taking of emergence in 2035 when she is unable to secure the availability of basic commodities barely 12 years to dateline?

Users of domestic cooking gas are stranded with the absence of the precious commodity in the market. The reason for the shortage of the cooking gas has not been given the stakeholders in charge, nor the period for when it will be available made known. This have left users of the domestic cooking gas confused and afraid given that no information has been advanced to justify this shortage.

UNDAUNTED decided to talk to some disappointed users of domestic cooking gas.

"It is really frustrating. I do not have any other alternative of cooking apart from using the gas cooker. For three days now I have unable to secure for myself a filled gas bottle since mine got finished. These three days have been hell for me and children. I pray something is done and very fast, if not, only God knows." A lady hinted.

"There is no cooking gas cylinder in the market and instead for this government to come tell the people what is happening, they decide to be quite. They now consider us not nobody that they should explain things to. In short, this country should be sold and the money shared to everybody". Another user who preferred anonymity added.

A few months ago, the authorities in charge of the distribution of petroleum products explained this shortage “by a logistics problem“. They spoke then of a “delay in the unloading of the importer’s ship Confex Oil“. Since August, Camerounian has been facing a shortage of gas of several brands (Tradex, SCTM, Total, Afriquia Gas …) in several localities. In July, the government confessed that the fuel shortage was due to the growing weight of the state subsidy dedicated to maintaining the prices of these petroleum products. It is not excluded that this problem also affects domestic gas.

The subsidy for this product is borne by the Caisse de stabilisation des prix des hydrocarbures (CSPH). At the end of March 2022, the colonial Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, estimated the subsidy for a bottle of gas at FCFA 6777. The colonial Minister, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CSPH, projected the annual cost of this subsidy at CFAF 70 billion. This sum is higher than the overall expenses of this public institution, which amount to FCFA66.09 billion in 2021 and FCFA52.2 billion in 2020.

A source hinted UNDAUNTED a consignment of this gas is coming to remedy the situation in some towns. That while waiting for the unloading of these ships expected, the storage station of Bipaga located near Kribi can supply the city of Yaounde and its surroundings. What will then the case of in Ambazonia, whom certainly will be supplied on when all the different LRC towns must have been replenished?
