LRC POLICE AND CORRUPTION SCANDALS INVOLVING IDENTITY CARD BUSINESS

LRC Police and Corruption scandals involving Identity Card Business

It has been revealed that in the police offices, the commissioners throw away the files of applicants and eat their fees.

It has been a headache for anyone to obtain a national identity card (ID) in LRC since 5 years or so ago since the LRC declared war on Ambazonia.

The ordeal can only be compared to that of the biblical saying of being easy for a Carmel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man.

Revelations have proven why the corrupt LRC Police create scarcity in order to feed fat on innocent citizens. The police has been using the identity card as a bait to enrich themselves.

For instance when one is caught without it you are even locked up as a criminal and you need bail and sums of money are demanded meanwhile this paper officially cost barely FCFA 2800. Many have paid a high prize as the Police accuse them as “Amba Boys” refusing to disclose their identities.

But the mafia is that many have gone to the police stations and duly established these cards and given temporal receipts which expire in 3 months and these have been renewed and renewed till thy kingdom come yet no identity cards are being released.

Follow this testimony:-

"I am writing to you concerning the problem of the ID in this country Cameroun. This is what police commissioners do: Every 3 months, they register the ID files. Each file is accompanied by the cost which amounts to FCFA 2800. When the quota of 5000 files (2800 ×5000) is reached, they send 1000 files to Yaoundé and the other 4000 files are destroyed, pocketing FCFA 11,200,000 (eleven million two hundred thousand) in the process.

You can imagine how much these commissioners eat! This is why some citizens receive their cards and others do not. I faced this problem.

Being a Navy officer, I therefore myself went to Yaoundé to the production department to meet a Commissioner friend. He is the one who checked and told me that my file has never arrived here for two years and therefore explained to me this level of corruption and embezzlement that the new commissioners have developed to enrich themselves on the backs of the people..”.

This victim went on that now after two years when you are tired of following up extending the expiry date on the receipt, they will advise you to redo a new identity for them to extort more money. He is not alone this is the plight of many in a rotten system like LRC.
