CPDM MEMBERS WELCOME LRC MILITARY ENGINEERS INTO EKONDO TITI LGA

LRC military engineers arrive Ekondo Titi February 14 2023 for the construction of the Kumba – Ekondo Titi road project. The cpdm members have welcomed the colonial LRC military engineers who arrived on February 14 2023 for the construction of the Kumba – Ekondo Titi road project. Undaunted learnt that these CPDM militants held peace plants and were singing in different languages. The engineers are expected to tar the road and the militants say this will be a great relief to them. According to Godfred Tamyoung a farmer in Ekondo Titi : “15000frs is what we pay during the rainy season and 6,000- 7,000frs during the dry season as transportation fee to move our farm products to the markets in Kumba and with the tarring of the road, we will be paying 1000frs which is so much of a burden taken off our shoulders,”

The colonial LRC CPDM Mayor of Ekondo Titi Margaret Ndiba on her part made Undaunted to understand that “From the faces, I can see for myself that my people are happy and the peace plant is a sign of calmness and justice. With Pamol supplying oil in Cameroon, there will be no problem anymore in transportation of crops and oil to different parts,” she said. “It will bring us development and other good things to follow if we truly give peace a chance and we continue to ask those in the bushes to drop their arms and come home. It is not too late and let us develop our town together,”  Ful Francis Muh the colonial LRC Divisional Officer for Ekondo Titi quipped: “Without a road everything is stagnant especially for most of us who depend solely on farming. Things will be made so easy on us now that the project of tarring our road has started and we can easily get into Kumba and back without much stress. To me, this is a sign of peace and all should embrace it,”

Undaunted has learnt that the tarring of the Kumba-Ekondo Titi road is expected to begin in the months ahead and like every colonial LRC promise it might still remain a promise till further decades notice.
