TRADERS OF THE BAFUT COUNCIL ORDERED TO PAY RENTS WITHOUT DELAY

One of the devastating effects of the ongoing war in Southern Cameroons is felt economically. A war declared on January 2017 on the people of Southern Cameroons by colonial ruler Paul Biya. Within the Anglophone war of separation, many have closed their businesses, others have seen their shops set ablaze and others barely surviving as their shops were looted by the colonial military of LRC. A right thinking administration with good fate should rather strategize on how to revive the remaining surviving businesses.

But this is not the case with the house slaves heading institutions in Southern Cameroons and sorogates to the colonial regime of Paul Biya. Any attempt to increase the plight of business owners who have already experienced a lot of suffering and still experiencing should be condemned with all energy. The house slave to the Bafut Council have signed a request for rent addressed to shop owners of the Bafut Main Market to pay rent. Is this what can be requested from a people in crisis moment? The house slave to the Bafut Council has ordered shop owners of the Bafut Main Market to pay rents before the August 25, 2022.

This was the subject of a request signed on the August 5, 2022 by the house slave Mayor of Bafut Council, Ngwakongoh Lawrence. By the requested, the house slave Mayor is requesting all occupants of shops at the Bafut Main Market to report to the council office with tenancy agreements for regularisation and payment of rents. The request further states that the latest date to comply should be August 25, 2022. Bafut is one of the Savannah States of Southern Cameroons greatly affected by the war currently going on in Southern Cameroons. Many youths have fled the attrocities of the colonial military of killing indiscriminately. Business is barely surviving and what the house Mayor deemed fit is to call the shop owners to pay rent.
