Debunking the Purported Impeachment and Removal from Office of President Samuel Ikome Sako
Attention: International Community
The IG wishes to thank all Ambazonians of good faith, the International Community and Friends of Ambazonia for standing strong in the wake of a series of distractions led by a handful of ill-intentioned individuals under the influence of La Republique du Cameroun (LRC), who are bent on derailing our Struggle. In spite of their incessant attacks and a clear violation of the Ambazonian Interim Constitution that we have witnessed over the past months, based on smear campaigns and several illegalities, the IG stands firm in its conviction and purpose - a free and independent Ambazonia / former British Southern Cameroons. We hereby affirm that the IG, (the government that oversees all 13 Counties and 61 Local Government Areas (LGAs) is still led by Dr. Samuel Ikome Sako, President of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
Concerned by the multiple acts of violation by leadership and a few rogue members of the RC (mostly of the infamous Government Affairs), the Constituent Assembly of LGAs seating on 31st January 2022 passed a vote of no confidence on the leadership of the RC, and unanimously voted for a recall of all their LGA Representatives in the RC. As a result the RC could not form a quorum after the LGAs recall of their Representatives in the House. The House of Representatives, therefore lack the legitimate quorum to carry out official business on behalf of the people of Ambazonia. The Assembly also urged the President to employ his Constitutional Authority to protect the Revolution and uphold the Constitution (Interim Laws guiding us during this Liberation phase). see attached Executive Order No. FRA/1214-22.
Hence, the “Letter of Impeachment of Dr. Sako” of 3rd of February 2022, and the letter of “Removal from Office officially of Dr. Sako” of February 13, both purportedly signed by Elvis Kometa, Chairman of the defunct Restoration Council, in blatant disregard of our laws and procedures are Null and void.
Concerned by the multiple misguided actions by the RC against the president, masterminded either by people who are no longer part of the IG such as former Secretary of State for Communications, Chris Anu, and former VP Abongwa, in complicity with John Egyawan, or people who have no legitimate authority to decide for the IG/Ambazonia within the RC, and therefore have no power to make such pronouncements on behalf of Ambazonians of all 13 Counties and 61 Local Government Areas (LGAs). We members of the Counties/LGAs, ARFs, the Cabinet, The National Treasury, the Ethics Committee and the Recalled Members of the RC continue to stand by their IG and support our very competent and focused President and commander in chief of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia, Dr. Samuel Ikome Sako.
Be it known that all acts, proceedings, decisions or resolutions, purportedly proceeding from the RC, from the date of the Executive Order No. FRA/1214-22, to the holding of the ASSC 2 in Washington DC and the effective return of the recalled members of the RC to the House, are not binding on the Interim Government or the People of Ambazonia. The State Department, the UN and the Swiss Government should take special notice!!
