POPE'S ENVOY LEAVES CAMEROON

Pope Francis’ man in Yaoundé leaves behind a divided country as the Southern Cameroon – Ambazonia Crisis continues unabated.  As the pope’s ambassador to Cameroon moves on, leaving behind a country still torn apart by ethnic and linguistic divides despite his best efforts at peace, his final plea to the country was to embrace a spirit of “dialogue without prejudice.”  Archbishop Julio Murat, a Turkish prelate who’s served in Cameroun and Equatorial Guinea since 2018, was named the new Apostolic Nuncio, or ambassador to Sweden and Iceland Nov. 9. “The church wasn’t meant to separate people, but to unite those who are separated. And if there are differences as a result of different sensibilities, we should always be open to listen, to dialogue, without prejudice.”

He said this during a mass organised by the Cameroun Episcopal Conference to bid him farewell on December 12, 2022. The Nuncio carefully avoided the one issue that has divided Cameroun and threatens to bring down the country’s false foundation; the Ambazonian liberation war that has been raging unperturbed since 2016. Undaunted just learnt that the Pope himself has called on the entire world, to support Ukraine suffering the same fate with the Southern Cameroon – Ambazonia and it is high time for the Nuncio to tell his boss, the Pope that he is leaving Cameroun with unresolved issues concerning the Ambazonia liberation war which has claimed over 40.000 lives and counting and the Pope his boss should be reminded that all creatures are equal before God and black lives equally matter.

This happened about two weeks back, but of course that hasn’t done anything to resolve the conflict in anyway, amicable dialogue as equals has not been achieved yet instead we see more dehumanisation of the British Southern Cameroons..
