MR. ABDOU ABARRY OF NIGER APPOINTES UN SPECIAL REP TO CEMAC

This is just coming in and it seem me it could be good news in the construct of geopolitics in CEMAC sub African region and Ambazonia's freedom question:

Mr. Abdou Abarry of Niger - Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Central Africa and Head of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA)

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced today the appointment of Abdou Abarry of Niger as his Special Representative for Central Africa and Head of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA).

Mr. Abarry succeeds François Louncény Fall of Guinea. The Secretary-General is grateful for Mr. Fall’s dedication and excellent leadership of UNOCA over the past five and a half years.

Mr. Abarry brings extensive experience in the areas of politics and diplomacy. He is currently serving as Permanent Representative of Niger to the United Nations in New York. Previously, he served as the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union (AU) and Head of the AU Liaison Office in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (2016-2019). Earlier, he headed the African Union’s Liaison Office to the Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) in Abuja, Nigeria (2014-2016).

Prior to that, Mr. Abarry served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Niger including as Director General, Bilateral Relations, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011-2014). He was Ambassador to Belgium (2003-2011), accredited concurrently to Greece, Luxembourg and the Netherlands as well as to the United Nations Offices in Geneva and Vienna, the European Union Commission and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States. From 1999 to 2003, he served as Diplomatic Adviser to the President and Director-General of State Protocol. Prior to that, he served as Counsellor at Niger’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (1992-1997).

Mr. Abarry holds a Master’s degree in international relations from the École supérieure d’administration et des carrières juridiques de Lomé, Togo, as well as a diploma from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon. He speaks French and English.

How can his appointment benefit peoples like Ambazonia who are a minority in the CEMAC geopolitical setup? Ambazonians feel absorbed and ignored. Star, what do you think?

That's the big question.

Well, some schools of thought believe that this could be great news for Ambazonia - the UN Central African representative officially nominated to replace Mr Fall could bring some good for Ambazonia. As you well know, He is the current Niger Ambassador to the United Nations and judging from his president’s robust response on geo- Political and strategic issues of the day during Macron’s visit , we know they are not involved in French politicking. We need people with independent and Africa-oriented minds to lead this continent. That's my opinion.
