UPDATE ON LRC SENATORIAL ELECTIONS

Colonial LRC CPDM Mayor says peace is returning to Menji LGA.

Nearly six years since the headquarters of Lebialem County, Menji, LGA became deserted due to Ambazonia armed conflict, the town’s colonial CPDM Mayor Nicasius Nkemasong has said peace is returning to the area. Nicasius Nkemasong said in an interview with the propaganda wing of the CPDM - CRTV that the peaceful conduct of LRC’s CPDM Senatorial Elections in Menji LGA on Sunday is proof of the return of peace in the town that was considered a dead end few years back.

Mayor Nkemasong was proud that 102 Councillors from the three CPDM Municipal Councils in Lebialem were in Menji LGA to vote.

“It is a clear indication that life in Menji is coming back to normal,” he quipped. Undaunted notes that Menji, the headquarters of Fontem LGA and capital of Lebialem County, has, during the past years of the Ambazonia armed conflict, been ungovernable. Since 2018, the Ambazonian freedom fighters christened The Red Dragons has launched attacks upon attacks in confrontation with the colonial LRC military on the town, causing the closure of colonial LRC government services and displacement of the local population.

 

In August 2022, the leader of The Red Dragons a once dreaded Amba fighter, Oliver Lekeaka aka FM A was killed and this greatly activities of the freedom fighters in Lebialem County.  Menji LGA has been among the worst affected in the conflict hitting the Ambaland
